The no peep was produced by timberline archery which was taken over by a sight manufacture. The sight manufacturer has since incoporated the device into thier multipin sight. Regardless of what Archery Innovations call the device it is not a scope because of the simple fact that you do not view the target through it, in fact you cannot and do not view anything through it the no peep. This is the major misconception associated with the no peep (and the Anchor sight). The no peep is not located in front of or aligned with the pins, but is located above or below the pin housing so that the pins are not obscuring the pins. the only thing that you can see in the no peep is a black dot at the (very short, i.e. less than 2 inch) focal length of the lens. the no peep merely aligns a dot in a circle that tells you when you have anchored the same correct place every time. If the dot is not centred in the circle you have not anchored in the correct place. Once you have anchored at the same place, your eye effectively becomes your peep sight and focus is switched to the sight pins which are now lined up on the target as normal.

Look! It's easy.. You just shoot whatever you are comfortable with and they will tell you at bowcheck what division you are in. It doesn't matter what division you are in as long as you are shooting.

Wether you want to call it a scope or not, the people who supply it call it one. Also there is a magnifying lens, which is banned in BHU. The rules don't say what can and cannot be magnified, they just say no magnification. Don't get me wrong, I think it sounds like a good thing, but at the moment it is a freestyle piece of equipment. If I shot freestyle, I would have a serious look at one, but until the BHU rules are changed, it doesn't fall into this category. If and when that happens, I may well use one myself, but until that happens, I am happy to abide by the rules of the game.

The bottom line is the device has a lens therfore it can only be used in freestyle. Not to mention how many other reference points you could get by moving your alignment of ring in ring up and down. If you had 5 pins you could get at least 15 alignment points without much effort. No amount of talking here will change the rules.
Still a Scout.
I'm not trying to be difficult. It just comes naturally.

Say I am using this device shooting with my 30y pin and instead of aligning the dot with the center of the circle I align it with the bottom of the circle where will my arrow impact the target, now what would happen if I align it with the top of the circle.
Clearly I will change the impact point of my shot therefor creating two more sight marks for one pin.
